The Gustavus Room details the art of 1800’s craftsmanship in the details of the construction, its views of the area, and its size and expanse. Gustavus Swan was asked by the American artist Samuel F. B. Morse, who developed the electrical telegraph system to travel to Central New York to help integrate the telegraph across the state. He bought this this home in the 1860’s, originally built by his family in 1839. The furnishings detail some of the craft of that time period and wonderful views of the property. In room Hearth.
